All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it.
I'll be posting a couple more tech sheets before Saturday so be sure to follow this event to keep up with the tech sheets we'll be going through.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Finding New Stuff Here

In the old forums, there was a tab at the top of the forum view page that said "Recent." You could click it and get page of topics that were either recently added or updated. I used that a lot to keep up with the new stuff and I think many others did, too.

I just discovered that this forum has the same feature but done better. It's the "View New Content" link in the upper right hand corner of your screen, underneath the search box.

If you click that link, it'll show you all the new stuff added since your last visit. If you're not logged in, I think it shows all the new stuff in the last 24 hrs.

Another way to keep up with new stuff...

The icons beside the forums and topics will be dark blue when there is stuff in there you haven't read; they'll "shadow out" after you've read everything. Another way to keep up with new stuff is to mark a forum (or even the entire board) as "read." This will shadow out the icons beside the forum(s) and topics; when new stuff is posted, the icon will turn dark blue.

To mark the entire board as "read," scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click the link in little itty-bitty letters that says, oddly enough, "Mark Board as Read."

To mark just a single forum as read, go to the forum view, where you're seeing all the topics listed in that forum. In the dark blue header that lists the name of the forum, on the far right side, you'll see an even smaller link in parenthesis that says, "(Mark this forum as read)" :)

Domo for pointing out two more bugzillas, ACtechguy!

I had the permissions set wrong for Master Appliantologists-- of course you should be able to view profiles and edit your own!

And I think I corrected a problem with my own PM settings-- try PMing me again and let's see if I get it.

Here's a cool feature I stumbled on; when viewing a forum, in the area between the topic column and the started by column, move mouse on the same plane just to the left of the started by posters name. A small clipboard will appear in a small window, and in this window will display the original post
