All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, March 30 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Replying and Quoting

When you're reading a topic, one of the buttons you'll see at the bottom of each post in that topic is "Reply." This really means, "Quote." If you click that, you'll be taken to an editor window with a quote of that entire post. You can then add whatever you want to say and post that as a post. There are times when this is appropriate. But one of the ways this is NOT appropriate is to click Reply and then 1) add nothing and simply post that or 2) when you're replying to the immediately preceding post, there's no need to quote the entire post-- parts of it, maybe, but not the entire thing; it just clutters the page and makes you look like a noob.

To simply post a reply without quoting (which should be most of the time), scroll down a bit and use the Fast Reply box or click the "Add Reply" button just above it.

all joking aside now, hes right you are cluttering the posts and wasting valuable resources ( i know the samurai thinks webspace when seeing that, but i really meant drinking time(ok, one more joke))

Multiquote: you can check the box beside more than one post while viewing a topic and then hit multiquote to quote multiple posts. I haven't used it yet. Try it out and see how it looks. If it doesn't turn out right, you can always edit your post. :)

Also, if you select one of the little circles above multiquote (vote post up or down), you get a message that action failed:You have reached your quota of positive (negative) posts for the day, which is obviously zero in both cases

I don't think I have that turned on yet or it's misconfigured. It's on my list of "Stuff to Figger Oot."

Gonna try to get more emotes added tonight, too.

When I click on the Quote or MultiQuote button it takes me straight to the "reply to this topic" window at the bottom of the page and it does not show the post that I want to quote or reply to.

What am I missing and/or doing wrong?

What browser and OS are you using?

Downloaded Mozilla Firefox this morning and the quote buttons work.

Thanks.

Firefox is a superior browser, anyway, so it's all for the better!
