Frigidaire front loading washer broken door latch

6 posts in this topic

I have a Frigidaire Affinity front-loading washing machine (Model No. ATF6000FS / Serial No. XC73406325) with a broken door latch. The "hook" on the door has broken off, I think inside the "catch" on the main body.

Replacing the hook in the door looks fairly simple, but retrieving the broken piece from the catch look to be more challenging.

Any help here? (part numbers, strategies, etc.)

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Any help getting the broken piece out of the latch in the main washer body?

Thin needlenose? maybe a small hook in the end of a wire hanger, get hook behind it and pull out?

Good ideas. I'll try it; I am hoping I don't have to take apart the washer body to get to it.
