GE Range Model# JBP55GS1AD

Hi All, Went to work on a GE Range today, Model# JBP55GS1AD. The complaint was display says "Door" and shuts oven down. I let the oven pre-heat to 350, the range beeped to say it was preheated, the bake element cycled for about 15 minutes then shut down and displayed "Door". I tested for continuity at the switch by the latch, ok. Also checked the other end of the switch wires for continuity at the ERC by unplugging the six prong connecter, that was also ok. Does this point to bad ERC? Thanks, Bob

The door is shutting tight and the switch actuator not damaged or bent right?

If all that looked good then yes, verify connections at the clock -----> replace clock

Is the switch that I should be testing the "Lock Switch that is located on the back left of the Latch Mechanism"?

yes check the latch switches and the actual door switch

Normally in the regular in bake mode you shouldn't get the "door" error as that's usually

for the self clean cycle....as you know the door latch isn't utilized in regular oven use.

It does sound like the ERC is wonky, but I would also check the sensor resistance when its hot

I have seen sensors on GE's cause freakous mysteries
