Whirlpool Duet GEW9200LW0 not working

10 posts in this topic

So after 8 years of working faithfully, my whirpool GEW9200LW0 dryer is not turning on.

The light inside the chamber comes on. That's it.

How do I perform the diagnostics on this model?

I tried the More Time -less time-more time-less time cycle to no avail.

Help!

I reset the circuit breaker. Did not help.

The thermal fuse is the one shown on 4-7 here?

The thermal fuse is the part that Grand Master kdog linked you to in the post immediately prior to yours. You know, the one with the purdy pitcher and the big bold words above it that say "click here"

Thanks...what if the fuse is OK?

or is that thermal fuse the most likely culprit?

Thanks...what if the fuse is OK?

could be

... bad connection on the Dryer Cord Terminal Strip

... broken Belt

... bad Door Switch

some electrical testing would need to be done ...

So I finally got to the fuse and tested it as shown in the video. It shows continuity.

Now what?

By the way, the little pilot lamp in the drum turns on when I open the door so I figure the plug is ok.

What could be the next best bet and how to test for it?
