Gibson GR4GA package unit - contactors won't pull in

When calling for AC, the contactors do not pull in. The indoor blower motor does come on. If I manually actuate the contactor then the compressor/condenser fan energize.

I replaced the contactor. Same problem.

There is 24 volts going to the coils.

Yes, but I will double check tonight. I was a bit casual last night.

I have the wiring diagram PDF but don't know a good fileshare site offhand.

Disconnect the thermostat wires from the unit.

Use a jumper wire at the low voltage terminal board to jump ® red to (Y) yellow.

If the contactor closes you will have to look at the thermostat wire and or thermostat for your problem.

If you have a digital thermostat there is a 5 minute delay from turning on power until yellow will close.

It's the anti-short cycle timer (stock for this unit), I'm pretty sure now. There is a Lux digital thermostat but the power stays on for hours and still nothing. I was wrong about 24V going to the contactor, there is no power at the contactor. There is 24V going to the timer, but nothing coming out.

How I missed that the first time I don't know but I think it says something about twelve-hour days.
