All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

GE Range Model# JBP70WK4WW

Hi All, Have a GE Range Model# JBP70WK4WW with an F3 Code. Temp. senser ohms out at 1.592 K Ohms. Try to pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees, within 2-3 minutes it says it is pre-heated, but the temperature in the oven is NOT at 350. Is this most likely the Senser or could the Control be bad? This customer is an hour away, just want to make sure I order the correct part.

Thank You Kindly, Bob

1) Sensor should read 1100 OHMs at room temperature....What temperature does the Oven Display at room temperature ?

2) does the Oven Display read 350 F after pre-heat ?

At room temperature= 1.512 k ohms.

Oven Displays 350 after pre-heat, Pre-heat only lasted about 3 minutes. Temperature in oven is NOT 350 when the pre-heat ends and temp reads 350 on the display.

sounds like a bad Thermistor

Oven Display probably read about 280F at room temperature

Thanks Reg, I will bring a Sensor with me. When I push the Bake Button, the Display says PRE. It did not show a temperature on this oven. When it thought it was pre-heated the display changed to 350. I know what you mean, some say 100 for a while until the temp reaches 100 then it starts to climb. I know I saw a chart somewhere that listed the resistances/temperatures of the sensor, but I can't find it now. Thanks, Bob

i did a quick search and it said 1100 OHMs at room temperature and 2 OHMs per degree increase...

1512 - 1100 = 412

412 / 2 = 206 + 77F = 283F

wouldn't take long to get to "350F" :whistling:
