5 posts in this topic

WT5001CW Top load washer. No noise in spin, no error codes, just rubbing noise in agitation, or maybe they call it nutate like the old Calypso.

This one is more like the Whirlpool Cabrio rather than the Calypso-- and thank the pit-bellied, buck-toothed, bald-headed Buddha for that!  Probably have a piece of clothing stuck between in the inner basket and outer tub.

remove the wash plate and check for a coin or other foriegn object. Under the center cap is a 10 mm screw, that all that holds the wash plate in.

We have seen the main control send power to more than one motor winding causing grinding noises that you would think was a gearcase issue.
