I replaced the cycling thermostat completely.  Will test it again tomorrow on fluff.  Checked using a continuity tester for grounds on the heating coil unit, but did not detect any grounds or partial grounds.


What if the built-in heater on the cycling thermostat is not being activated by the mode selector switch?  Would a malfunctioning selector timer be a possible source of all this trouble?

If the Timer was keeping the Heater energized,

the Thermostat should still regulate the temperature.
