My what a novel idea........

I have an idea. How about a place where folks can kind of hang out and just TALK. You know, about things. Well except politics because I wouldn't want to have to give the mindless talk radio listening FOXBOT slogan spewing sheeple an ass whooping, but other things.......... (of course a DEDICATED politics thread is always ballsy until someone gets butthurt and starts whining).

I see side conversations pop up on threads and folks just naturally like to talk to each other so why not? I'd love to come here more often, but unfortunately, there just aren't that many new topics except in the grasshopper help section and I'm too stupid to help there......... I KNOW htat some of you like football, (not soccer for you european wannabe types, REAL football) or soccer, or bass fishing, or nose picking or SOMETHING. It's nice to have a place to talk about that stuff with like minded folks.

Just a thought.........

The Geisha House Forum is there just for that reason. I find most of the time, side issues come up because they are at least tangentially related to the topic.....I've been known to go off on a tangent every now.....uh naaaw, strike that,  I never talk about anything other than the subject matter at hand. :dontknowaboutyou:

I stand corrected. Then you didn't see the post i made in your honor regarding a subject near and dear to my heart, Blue Bell Rocky Road Ice cream. Ok... let's talk with the powers that be, you know, the big guy up above (look above and his name is quite prominent and big, isn't it? ) I surmise moderating such a forum would be taxing if it didn't restrict subject and who could post on some reasonable level.

Not Rocky Road!!!! And I missed it?

As far as commenting, I was thinking from the enrolled student level up. Actually until I came on this morning without signing in I thought this suggestion box was in the enrolled students section lol.

Yeah, I would hate to try to moderate an open forum where anyone in the world could drive by and add nastiness. Look how often folks register, ask a question then never bother to come back and look for the answer.

It is a good idea and I've added it to my hit list.  It won't be a completely open forum because I don't want search engine spiders to access it (search engines are treated as guests or "Lurkers at the Threshold").  So I'll probably set it up where someone needs to be at least an Apprentice to even view the topics.  It'll just  be an open, unmoderated forum where anything goes... except illegal activity that could get the site shut down (peddling warez, kitty porn, plotting government overthrows, etc.)

Okay, DeathStalker, your wish has been granted!  Announcing the grand opening of The 40 Watt Club (named after the famous night club at UGA, my alma mater) right here at Appliantology!

Sick and tired of talking appliances all the time? Then come on in The 40 Watt Club and parrrtayy! The bouncers are on a leave of absence so it's pretty much a free for all (but let's not do anything that'll attract the Fuzz).  Anyone who talks appliance repair in The 40 Watt Club is Party Pooper!
