samsung refrigerator question

appliance repair tech

Recommended Posts

hello, i have a samsung french door style fridge, model# RFG296HDRS  and i am wondering where the water valves are for the icemaker and water dispenser, usually they are located down in the bottom back of fridge but on this model of fridge the waterlines run in the back middle of fridge and a water line rus up to the icemaker, inside the fridge in the middle is where the water filter housing is located so the lines running to that make sense but i have the actual service manual of samsung for this model and even that does not show where they are located either by picture or by part numbers on the exploded view of internal parts, also i have been to sears web site and even with their exploded views they do not show either pictures or part numbers for this valve, so is there any samsung techs out there that would know the answer to this?

                                                                                                                     thank you.

Valve is in the filter housing.  Isn't that a perfectly intuitive place ot put it?   :teehee:

There's a service bulletin that shows this, may shed some light:  http://appliantology.org/files/file/1517-samsung-refrigerator-service-bulletin-water-leak-at-the-icemaker-or-the-water-dispenser-dispensing-on-its-own/
