My cousin has a French door Kenmore 795.77304600 refrigerator that when he closes the door the lights stay on. Doing a little research on the web I have found it is a known problem that might be covered under a rework.  Some people talk about the fix being a new Light socket assembly and computer board. Can you tell me if it's the bottom mount main PCB board in the back, or the power control board assemble at the top of the fresh food side.

It's the board in the back and the light socket assy. The new board has a new style relay and the light assembly has a safety bimetal built in to shut off the lights if the board fails. Don't mess with it. Just call Sears, verify the model is covered, and the repair shouldn't cost you a thing. That Kenmore is an LG, but Sears owns it once that Kenmore label is slapped on. Have them mail out the repair kit ahead of time.
