All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

I’ve done the wild card search and nothing is coming up. Please post the service manual here.

I'd rather teach you how to fish than just hand you a fish.

When you do the wildcard search, you need to chop off come letters from the end of the model number.

I’m telling you, I’ve done that and nothing is coming up. I’m out on the job right now.

I appologize if I'm interrupting this thread.

Since we're on the subject of wild cards not working all the time, I gotta agree. The system doesn't work right always. I have trouble finding kenmore numbers a lot. Here is an example.

Search 592-4* nothing comes up

then search 592-* and a tons of pages come up including ones starting with 592-4*

But the model number is longer, I now have to search through a lot of pages, because the system doesn't match the wildcard which defeats the purpose of a search bar. Just wanted to let you know the search isn't perfect and it's not always a user error not using wildcards right.

There's actually a trick for Kenmore model numbers -- I believe we cover it in the video on how to search on the FAQ page. You just have to replace the Kenmore prefix with an asterisk.

So if your model number is 592.123456789, you would search like *123456*. That works consistently.
