All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Frigidaire wall air conditioner error code A5

I was picking up my daughter from summer camp from a church.  One of the helpers was asking me about a wall AC problem.  He said the temperature wont go down with it set at 85 degrees.  I looked at it and it looked like an A5 error code.  I googled it and A5 means air sensor.  It doesn't have a sticker with the model number but looks like the link below.  Does Frigidaire make a universal air sensor?  Is it the one in the front of the AC by the grills after the air filter for easy access?  Appreciate if you have the parts location.

I shut the AC off for like 15 mins and turned it back on, the compressor hummed but off after like 2 mins.

Just because it's throwing an air flow sensor code doesn't necessarily mean a bad sensor. I believe that sensor reads temperature. Not 100% because I have never had one of those sensors bad. If you compressor is humming then going off that's not a good sign. I would think 15 minutes off would be plenty of time to restart. May have a bad capacitor if it isn't starting or a locked compressor.

That's usually how it goes :) Most of the time they aren't worth putting money in to. I had an older Haier for a friend of my boss with a bad capacitor. I just got one from a local electric motor repair shop for hvac units and it worked fine. Saved him some money and got it running that day.
