MAH8700AWW - new control board + motion detector

Hi all, very novice DIYer here... I was encountering a recurring E3 on my maytag/Samsung washer. After consulting these and other message boards, it seemed that the problem was most likely the control board. I bought a new one from applianzeparts.com and it arrived with an additional component that was not on the old model: a motion detector. 

I replaced the old board and added the new detector. The manual said that I had to put it into Service Mode to verify that the detector is operating correctly. However, after hooking everything back up I could not even power on the unit. But when I unplug the detector from the board it powers up without a problem. Then when I run the washer (with the new board and no detector) it runs through a full cycle without any E3 errors. Problem is, it spins at a much lower RPM and the clothes are soaked after the cycle ends. 

Perhaps I just got a bad motion detector from applianzeparts (I'm calling them tomorrow) but I'm wondering if anyone out here could think of another reason why this detector ain't working.

Sorry to bug you guys again... any ideas?

I contacted the applianzeparts.com customer service and they said they might be able to send me a new motion detector/sensor.

The control board seems to be fine — we've run multiple cycles but still can't get the spin cycle to get up to the proper RPM. Clothes are still coming out soaked.

Appreciate any help or advice you could offer

when looking up board on this unit, base on serial .   using first 2 digits

   series  11

Sorry... Can't seem to post an image. Here is what I could find on the back of the board:

When looking up part #'s on unit you have to look at 11 series . this is due to serial # breaks
