All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Wolf pivoting touch control panel won't stay in

TLBT

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am hoping that someone can help.  The touch control wont stay closed or "hide".  I know there must be some sort of catch or something to that effect that is broke.

Also how and where to order Wolf parts from.

I have been researching everywhere without luck.

Thanks!

Depends on what region of the country you live determines where you can order wolf and sub zero parts.

Thanks for the posts, we are located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

It is a double range, model is DF486C

serial 011137468.

any help would be greatly appreciated. I know a local repair said it would cost about 650.00 to have it fixed.

Cant swing that at this time, but we have a two year old that thinks it is a toy with the beeps ect, so hoping I can remedy it without forking out such a steep amount.

Thanks!

The ECH (user interface) has a piston that helps it open and close, that's probably where your problem is.  It looks like the whole thing is one part, so you probably need to replace the ECH.  To access it you'll need to remove the bullnose.  To remove the bullnose shut off the power, remove all the knobs, remove the two screws that hold the bullnose in place on each side then pop the bullnose up (which usually isn't quite that simple).

$650 is a good price for that job BTW.
