GE Profile Fridge PFSS6PKXCSS Water Dispensor Not Working

The water dispenser on my door stopped working. Filter is good and water line is not frozen and I have water going to the fridge. Any ideas?

Is water entering and  leaving the valve when energized?

How did you check to determine whether your line was frozen?

Is ice being made?

Regarding the water leaving the valve I did not check that. Where is it located? I ran a strand of wire from the dispenser up to the door hinge and disconnected the water line at the door hinge and ran the wire into the fridge section of tubing.

water valve is in the machine compartment behind the fridge.... follow the water lines

and if you do find a problem with the valve,  I highly suggest you get the less expensive Samsung branded valve because GE must have lost their damn minds! Part number: AP4511357

After the valve... next check for a frozen water reservoir and/or failed reservoir heater

I have yet to get to replacing the valve and now the ice maker is not working. Should I still attempt to change the valve first?

Disconnect dispenser outlet water line from valve. Place valve in bucket. Energize dispenser and see if water comes out. If not then replace valve. If water comes out you have a different problem in your dispenser.

Sounds like stuck check valve in water filter head, common.

You would replace this before the valve has been tested? Should we not ensure water is getting to the filter?

Of course you can check the valve, just pointing this out because it hadn't previously been mentioned as a possible cure for the symptoms given. ;)

I would check the reservoir,  probably frozen. Heater has quit working.  Either board or heater.
