If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Kenmore washer model 110.24642300 long cycle pause

My sons Kenmore washer Model 110.24642300 pausing for an unusually long time between the agitate cycle and starting the spin cycle.  I was hoping you could tell me if this was possibly a timer or control knob issue. I am going to check the lid switch in the morning to look for cracks in the plastic housing.  I had to replace my lid switch a year ago and am hoping that it may just be the lid switch that is causing their problem also. Please advise me on what route to take.

If the timer is still ticking between the pump-out/spin and rinse cycle.....or anywhere after the agitate cycle.......it's most likely the timer. The gears are hanging up/not moving/advancing properly. This sounds like the symptom(s) you're describing. If that's the case, replace the timer.......a common replacement part, but not as common as the lid switch. If you don't hear any noise or clicking from the timer between the agitate and pump out/spin cycle.......it's probably the lid switch. Timer part number is........  WP8541945   Lid switch is WP3949238
