All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:

WTW8240YW0 - Marks her territory

Hi all,

Hopefully a quick question. Working on sister's Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8240YW0. It's started leaking during the later stages of wash cycle. I can't see water coming from anywhere obvious with the back off, however puddle is forming on the floor. It's on the left side of the cabinet if you are facing front - right side when I am seeing it with back off and facing back side.

I've already replaced the bleach dispenser tray with the new model, so not sure what else to approach. Anyone seen this before?

Thanks.

Also meant to state that according to her, the size of the load makes a direct difference on how large the puddle is that appears under the washer, so not sure if this is overspill or sloshing going on.

Thanks again if anyone has any input.

Tilt machine back and see if the rotor has rust stains in it indicating that it is leaking at the tub seals. They will leak more with larger loads.

Look for a crack in the impeller housing of the drain pump too... better yet, feel for it because they are hard to see sometimes. Search the machine for residue to tip you off as to where the water is coming from, there is almost always white, calcium / lime trails if it has been happening for any length of time.
