All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Kenmore Microwave bulb- model number unreadable :(

Hi guys, wow, took me 15 minutes to figure out why I couldn't start a topic in the 'regular' kitchen forum  Guess you're on to me!! :)

Anyhow, the 'hood' bulbs (to illuminate the rangetop) in my mom's undercabinet nuke have burnt out, and I'm tasked with replacing them.  Easy Peasy, huh?  Well, the model # is half rubbed off- I can give the bottom half of each number, though!  I guess the question is if there is any way to figure out the model # based on the serial number?  The serial number is readable- it's MG903334BG.   I guess fallback is to pull the bulb, but I'd rather do this all in one visit...

thanks!

Have mom take a picture and send it to you. Then google the (brand-microwave). Look at images. Maybe you can find the model # that way.

Yeah, Kenmore could be just about anything, depending on its age.. Be sure to unplug or flip the breaker for the unit BEFORE removing or installing the bulbs! Many models will blast other parts if the dang lite bulb is changed while it is energized, but most any bulb is attainable at the hardware store, so take the bulb there and match it by the rating of the bulb itself.
