Help PLEASE - GE Profile cooktop JGP979BEF2BB - trying to replace burner valve but can't figure out how to remove the switch valve

I ordered a new burner valve for our GE Profile cooktop (model # JGP979BEF2BB).  I have followed instructions to replace here BUT I cannot figure out how to remove the burner switch valve.  it seems stuck on.   If anyone could please help me get through this, I know my entire family would greatly appreciate.  THANK YOU!

Looking at the replacement part, I see no threads, so it must not screw on... perhaps some type of cement adhesive gluing it to the manifold?

What is wrong with the valve, did someone break the shaft off of it?

Igniter Switch Removal

1. Remove the burners and top

 

2. Unplug the wires to the igniter switch (brown wire from the spark module and the yellow wire from the blower switch).

 

Note:

Note the color and position of the igniterswitches.

 

3. Lift each igniter switch off the valve stem.

 

Note:

When replacing the switch, replace the entire harness with colors in same positions. The bottom of the switch is molded to conform to the top of the valve for a locked-in fit.

Not the ignitor switches Chat, he wants to know how to remove the valve that needs to be replaced from the manifold.

They mount like almost all of the newer gas ranges.

You will have to access the mounting screw, (1/4" head), and sealing washer on the bottom of the manifold to remove the valve and replace with a new one.

The one valve I looked up comes with a new mounting screw and sealing washer

Valve Removal

1. Remove the burners and top

2. Lift the igniter switches off the valve stems.

(Note the color and positions of the switches.)

3. Remove the 1/2-in. nut on the gas line to the valve and remove the gas line.

4. From under the counter, remove 7 screws (1/4-in.) from the panel under the valves.

5. Remove the 1/4-in. screw from the bottom of the manifold and remove the valve.
