Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Control panel lights work. Start light stays on for 5 seconds then goes to reset mode. After reset, start light will come on but returns to reset(flashing) mode. Any ideas knowledgeable ones?

You need to look on the control board under dishwasher and check service  led for number of blinks to determine error on unit . It should blink at  a number of times and repeat    . not sure  of your description of start light blinks . if you  push start button how many times does it beep ? If you need to check control board on bottom  you should have a service tech to do that as live ac is down there .

Hello and thank you Doc. Sequence on door control panel. Close door securely, depress start button, two beeps and cycle light comes on. Start light is still unlit. Depress start button, one beep/light steadily on. Ten seconds later solid start light begins flashing. Start light continues flashing every minute 3 beeps.

This has happened before and I can't remember(senior moment) what I did or didn't do to fix it.

thanks for your help!

Service Bulletin
DD05 - 14
GE Appliances & Lighting
This Bulletin Supersedes DD02-12
2012 and Later Plastic Tub Dishwashers
Dishwasher Will Not Start or Start Light Flashing
Follow the diagnosis steps below if the door switch does not engage on 2012 and later model dishwashers. The dishwasher has the following symptoms:
•Control buttons respond but cycle does not start
•Start light flashes after 4 – 10 seconds
Models that may be affected:
ADT521PG, GDF510PG, GDF510PM, GDF510PS, GDF520PG, GDF520PS,
GDT530PG and GDT530PS
Diagnosis steps:
1. Verify consumer is closing the door within 10 seconds of pressing the start button (should be verified before service call).
2. Look for a broken door strike and replace as needed (WD35X10387).
3. Look for missing or broken latch paws and replace as needed.
4. Enter Diagnostic Error Code Mode to check door switch operation.
5. Check alignment of door strike and latch paws. The top of paws should be flush with the top of the strike. To raise the strike, the door must be raised.
To raise the door:
To raise the door, order six WD01X10107 spacer’s. Up to three spacers per side may be used.
If the door or strike hits the top of the tub, the tub top may be bowed down. Most dishwashers can be repaired by pushing or pulling up on the tub to remove the bowed down condition.

  • 2 years later...

Had one of these yesterday. Control was"nt recognizing door closure. In my case, it was the strike & latch not alligning properly. The top of the strike should be pretty much flush with the top of the latch. Instead of ordering the spacers & going back, I just used my big screw driver to bend the frame down some at the latch area. Strike & latch now alligned and all is well. Just FYI.
