Electrolux E30EW85GPS7 double wall oven not heating past 150 degrees in one oven

I have a three year old Electrolux Icon double wall oven E30EW85GPS7 (electric) where the lower oven will not heat to over 150 degrees, regardless of temperature setting. The upper oven works fine. This only happens in normal baking mode - switching to convection bake will set the temperature accurately.  I have never used the self-clean features.

Does the convection bake use a different temperature probe than what is used for regular baking? If it is different, does the temperature probe on the upper left-hand corner of the oven require complete removal for replacement?  It looks like there are screws in the oven for the probe but the connection is behind the oven enclosure according the picture in the wiring manual.

NO. If the temperature probe was the suspect, you would get an error code. You are likely to have a failed BAKE element according to your description of the symptom.

That bake element is mounted under a cover on the bottom of the oven. You will need the oven supported so you can access the bottom without it crushing you. I belive you can access the wire harness from the back of the unit and test for continuity and for 240 vac. if you turn it to bake with the oven cool and let it heat for 1-2 minutes if the element is working then you should feel the heat on the bottom panel inside the oven. This is a dangerous job without proper tools to support oven.Part number: 318601604

Thanks.  "This is a dangerous job without proper tools to support oven" sounds like a good excuse to find a pro to do the work.  I do most of my own appliance repairs but draw the line when danger is involved.

Update:    Called repairman to check the oven and change the part.  As expected, it was the bake element, where a burn mark and a broken piece of metal was uncovered.  This was actually a job that I could have done since full access was possible when pulling the oven half way out.  Didn't need a cart to open the panel on the bottom (clip and a screw).

Also questioned the temperature issues with the ovens when not using convection, and found that it just takes a long time for the temperature to stabilize - over 20 minutes.  The temperature gets to the setting and the oven beeps.  Problem is that it goes past the setting 30 degrees or more then swings to 20 or 30 degrees less.  After a few swings the temp is nearly constant and pretty accurate.  Moral of the story = don't believe the beep, wait until everything stabilizes, especially when baking.

All ovens cycle the burners or elements on and off. The idea is to have an average temperature of the setting. 

The burner/element can not maintain a temp, they have to cycle on and off.
