All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.

Manufacturer: WP

Model Number: WRX988SIBW00
Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Y

Howdy Y'all.

I need a SERVICE MANUAL

(not a tech sheet) for a WP Ref, MOD WRX988SIBW00.

Need to know how to gain access to the evap section to replace the Bi-metal.

This box has the third intermediate drawer as well as an extra drawer in the FRZ. Basically need info how to get past the drawers.

Bob at coastalappliances.com and I thank you.

I do not see a service manual for this model. My question is why do you need to replace the bi-metal if you have not been able to get to it. This fridge does not use a bimetal. I believe it uses all thermistors.

If you take a hard look at the tech sheet, there IS a bi-metal in the FC compartment in-line with the defrost heater element...

Service Test 6 is for defrost heater/bi-metal also...

I can't locate a service manual or Job Aid for this model either. There is an installation guide that shows how to remove the drawer fronts, but with these newer models I try to release the entire slider assembly and pull it out while still attached to the drawer, if possible, it keeps you from having alignment issues when you re-install them. The refrigerated drawer shouldn't be part of the freezer compartment- maybe this will be useful.

Sorry, looked at parts list real quick while I was on service matters and it did not have one listed that I could see.
