Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
      Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!

Hello,
I was wondering if I could get some help pin pointing what is wrong with my dryer. I think it may be the timer but I'm not 100%. 
Timer stopped advancing on automatic dry so it was overheating. 
Started using timed dry which advanced and was working. 
Now the timer dry is advancing but no longer heating.
I know it's not my element as I changed that a few months ago. And I opened it back up to check it a couple weeks ago. It was fine and I cleaned all the lint out from everywhere to be careful.

It sounds like you need to clean the exhaust vent, from where it connects to the dryer all the way out of the house- you have probably blown the thermal fuse.

Makes no difference that you changed the heater at one time. It could have failed again. Certainly possible with a badly restricted vent hose. Does the dryer heat up at all now? do you have any voltage readings at the heater. Is the heater mounted on back wall? What is the model number? m
