Stove knob wouldn't easily turn, tripped breaker, started smoking... Pictures inside.

As the title says, my Kenmore stove knob wouldn't easily turn, it tripped the breaker, and then started smoking. What should I do? Can I fix it?

Replace pictured Infinite Switch. Model number needed to look up part.

KESC300BAL11 is the model number.

Will any of the wires need to be replaced? Not sure if the large arc would damage anything else.

repaired quit a few of these...If you look closely, the terminals on the switch touched the frame of the range....every time I see this , the switch mounting nut has backed off and the result is the switch dropping down and touching the frame....What were the designers  smoking that day???....All it needed was a thin fiber board running across the .top of the lower panel......I add a few layers of electrical tape to the burnt areas to the panel under the switches...

I have replaced the damaged terminals and the switch and that is about it..The L1 or L2 terminals are the tallest, they touched first....You could also add a drop or two of  lock-tite to the switch threads...

Thanks for the help all! So, do I need to replace the termials and wires, or can I just replace the switch? Do I need to do anything to keep the other switches from doing the same thing?
