Whirlpool Duet Dryer Model GEW9250PW1won't turn on

I have a Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer (GEW9250PW1) that literally dried a load of clothes and when I went to put the next load in, it would not start.  The unit was purchased in 2007.  I set the cycle and shut the door.  Held the start button and it clicked and the sensing light is on.  Usually after the click, a second later the motor and drum start moving.  Now is just sits there - nothing.  Obviously it is not a power issue.  Could the thermal fuse fail suddenly - literally between loads?  I believe the door switch is not the issue since I have the click after holding the start button.  Any guidance is appreciated!!

Thanks,

Karen

Open door and turn the drum. If very little resistance you probably broke a belt.

There is a switch that cuts power to motor if the belt breaks.

Replace belt and you should be good.
