Frigidaire Oven Has Loud Clicking noise

TJO

Recommended Posts

I have a Figidaire FPMC2785PF oven that has developed a loud clicking noise. It sounds like something is clicking against a fan or something.  This machine was purchased used and I would like to fix it from making noise.  Here is a video of the noise.  I live in Orange County CA and would either love to have some advice on how to fix or have someone do it for me.

Thanks

Open the door and hold the light switch in and look and listen, then take the convection fan cover off and see what's hapnin. Maybe the fan blade came loose. Maybe the fan cover is bent.

Sounds like the cooling fan is fouling something or maybe the fan itself is coming apart. You feeling strong?

Does it start immediately when the oven is turned on? Does it continue after the oven is shut off? Is it on whether in conventional or convection bake?

Yes the clicking usually starts right away and then sometimes stops after reaching temperature but not always. After turning off the clicking will usually continues for some time as it cools down. Convection or bake does not seem to matter, the clicking starts right a way. On rare ocasion i got it to stop by playing around with the lock mechanism. The bottom oven makes no such noise and works fine.

Track the noise down to determine which fan is making the noise and replace the fan.

The cooling fan is located on top behind the controls. You will need to pull the oven to service.

Yes the model I posted earlier was wrong. It is a FPET2785PF.

I did remove the cover to the fan and noticed that the sheet metal was not properly suspending the cooling fan.  The fan blades were actually scraping slightly against the bottom sheet metal. To remedy I bent the sheet metal tabs slightly so that the fan was properly suspended giving the blades clearance.  The result is no more noise.  :)

Thanks
