All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Kenmore 665.13963K015 Dishwasher powers off mid-cycle

My Kenmore dishwasher powers off during first cycle or sometimes just after cycle finishes drain and starts next cycle.  When it happens display goes dark.  I can hit Stop/Cancel and it will drain water from tub and shut off.  Then will allow another attempt with same result.  Ran diagnostic program and it returned 4 codes F6E6, F6E4, F8E1 and F3E3 If I'm reading codes correct First one is Low water temp. Second Float switch open  Third Slow drain  Fourth Failed OWI calibration.   Not sure if any of those codes would cause a mid cycle power shut off. It fills and does first wash part way or all the way before it  fails.  Any ideas where to start first.  I have been able to repair all my appliances over the years but these new electronic controlled models are definitely different to diagnose.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks Dennis

Every time I've come across this it as the control.  You don't always have to replace either.  It was always a burnt out pin on the board and it just needed solder.

But check continuity on the heater first.

It's very likely the heater most machines shut down with heater failure now.

Checked heater continuity is fine.  Checked all connections all seem fine.  Symptoms are worse now starts cycle and immediately goes to red light cancel cycle and runs drain cycle.

Update: After testing the remaining items I decided to order a new control board.   That did the trick the Dishwasher is now working again much to the delight of my wife.  Thanks for the tips

Sometimes a bad capacitor on the control board can cause a few weird behaviors.

Also, on some models with a vent fan, a bad fan motor could draw enough power from the board to shut off the appliance mid cycle.

Quite a rare situation but if you encounter it, you might wish to unplug the fan and see if the dishwasher will continue further without it.
