If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

I'm a mom trying to fix my ice machine. I have tested the water line to the fridge and it's clear. Emptied and cleared water lines from valve to filter back to valve and to machine. Put a new filter in. Nothing blocking. When I turned it one the lines never refilled. Does that mean I need a new valve or could it still be the actual machine? Is there a way to test if it's the machine or the valve. There had been a clicking noise for months and when the ice stopped the clicking stopped. Thank u in advance

Is this a French Door?

Are you talking about ice maker up in left side of refrigerator section?

If you pull refrigerator from wall is there a rust spot on the back about where that ice maker is?

Yes it is a French door. The ice maker is in the top left of the freezer drawer section. I did not see any rust spot on the back of the fridge.

Ok. Needed to know which ice maker.

That is not a complete model number.

Please provide complete number.

Look for sticker on side wall inside refrigerator section.

Try this and report results.

Also look at that fill tube make sure it’s not clogged with ice. (Might have to remove ice maker to see tube, just remove the 2 or three screws and the ice maker should come off wall of freezer. It will be connected with a wire harness.)

Did as the video showed but it did not continue to advance on its own. I should add that It used to make a noise like this video (

before it stopped working. After it stopped. Working I did what the video comment suggested but obviously since it isn't running it didn't change anything. >

Is there ice in the mold tray of your ice maker? If no, is fill tube frozen?

No and there's no ice build up. There used to be that problem but we insulated the tubing and it isn't a problem any longer

The valve on the wall works. Pulled the line from fridge to wall off and blew through it to make sure it wasn't blocked and it wasn't. Had some water in it. Put that back on and removed other water lines and did the same.

OK thank u sooo much! I've had some week and this was a great distraction!  Just so u realize how much I needed a distraction... Here it is... My 14 month old son had a seizure 10 days ago out of no where and stopped breathing for 5 minutes. Turned out to be from a fever and a double ear infection. After a few days he was still lethargic but recovering when his sister decided to have the worst stomach virus ever! 3 days of her sick and the baby got it too. He slept for 36 hrs almost straight only waking to puke. Took him to the e. R. So they could hydrate him and they said good news ears are good now. No more antibiotics. Get home at 1 am and kid 3 goes down puking at 4 am. Then kid 4 and kid 5...baby seemed to have Finally been himself when he started with a fever screaming... If he gets a fever another seizure is likely... Take him to urgent care today and another double ear infection! Get home to find kid 1 decided in his germ a phobia he would use baby wipes for TP and clogged. Our septic backing it up into the basement... Yes floating poo.... Really? Really? So... Thank you for the much needed distraction from quite how bad it's been and... I better go because just when I thought the puking was over someone just called me from the bathroom puking...

Glad your kid is OK.    Doesn't matter how bad your basement gets, as long as your family is healthy.

Thank u! I feel like this is the happiest I could ever be during such a sickness! I've relished getting to sit and hold him. We thought we lost him so even a puking baby is a gift! So thankful the Lord spared him!! Thank u all again for the help! It means a lot!!
