Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.

2008 or so model, no electronic circuit board to waste money on. Problem is inconsistent spin engage after emptying water, I can get it to spin after going back and forth  from agitate to spin. I have replaced clutch, coupler, timer,and bypassed lid switch, no resolution.I need a solid diagnosis to fix.Please advise ASAP.

if you have installed a new timer , it will be the transmission .

Does the motor hum when it should be turning? Pull the motor off but leave the wires connected and see if it turns when set to spin. If not bad motor. if the motor works next step would be to  the drain pump and the motor off and spin the transmission by hand. It should turn in both directions. If not new transmission.

The neutral drain in the transmission is going out , just had one to do the same thing.  99% of the time it is the timer causing it , but since you have already done that , you have one of the rare ones .  ( rare in my experience anyway )

As everappliance had mentioned, your timer is suspect 99% of the time with your symptom. I would consider replacing the timer again.   You may have gotten a defective timer even though it is new and replaced . Swap one out for another one. No big cost to you to replace the original new timer for another of the same exact timer as long as it is the right numbered timer. Try that first and go from there.  With John Techs  advice for checking the transmission and you find the transmission to be ok you can also check the wiring for all components involved in the cycle time mentioned for the wash also. I have had very little success fixing these transmissions , I always get a new one.  this is a very good machine even though you have spent a lot throwing parts at it , it will be worth fixing . Darren also has a point about getting a bad part , it happens. to know if your new timer is bad you will have to babysit the washer and see if there is a pause where the moter shuts off after the rinse water is pumped out ,  if it don't =bad timer , if it does and still don't spin = bad transmission

Biggest question...

when you replaced timer was it factory original equipment or a knockoff brand?

Knockoff, but before I get to that, I just remembered another clue, last one... When I've got it agitating with the lid open, I move the tub back and forth several times, then switch to spin, and it seems to prompt it to actually spin. Conclusions?

as everyone here has said transmission it is getting stuck in neutral, and you moveing by had helps shift it into spin starting and stopping may shift it as well.  But make sure your timer as it runs starts off the spin BY ITSELF, and shuts off for a moment and restarts to finnish spin.
