If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Fix a fridge door shelf? (Admiral LTF1812ARW)

I have a Maytag Admiral fridge (model LTF1812ARW, serial 10860086GL). The top fridge door shelf is cracked at both ends. I can't find this part anywhere. Is there a good way to make a substantial lasting repair that will also pass the wife's asthetics inspection?

Will be hard to do both,  j b weld will work most of the time , but not sure if it will pass a white glove inspection. Whatever you glue it with   ,roughening the surface around the crack will give the glue something to grab to.

The cracks are in the corners where the stress is on the shelf hanging on the door. (I'll see if I can attach a photo.) For now, I used some aluminum tape and went from side to side around the shelf. Ugly as all get-out, but it will keep thd shelf and all the stuff from falling in the middle of the night (which, if course, is the only time it would!!).

The shelf part number is 3019024100. It pops up on ebay.uk pages, but nothing in the US.
