No heating below 2.5 on the range dial, Left front burner

GE gas range, model # JGBP33WEH4WW.  Serial number MH241955P.

All burners work. The four dials on the range are numbered: Lite, Hi, 9 through 1 and then LO.  However, the left front burner doesn't deliver a flame from 2.5 to LO.

You are starting to be a regular. If you are a professional technician have you considered joining and getting real access to knowledge?

First thing to do is clean all the surface burner orifices, front burners are usually the first to see the problem because they are used the most.

Straighten out a small paper clip and make a loop in one end so you can't drop it down into orifice if you let go.  Run the paperclip in/out of the orifice opening to clean any build-up out of the orifice and bring it back to full opening size.   That may fix the problem.

If the flames still go out or just seem to low on the lowest setting there is a low flame setting adjustment on each of the surface burner valves.   A very small straight bladed screw driver down the center of each surface burner knob shaft is the low flame adjustment screw.

Not at all a professional appliance tech, or a tech of any kind. Just a guy with three kids trying to save a buck. The last couple of weeks have been an appliance and a/c disaster. The blower on my car's a/c died. Discovered through self-help videos  the resistor that controlled that. Two weeks later the fan fell out in my hand. Discovered that the fan is not held in place by bolts, but the unit screws into a mounting flange--I'm still patting my self on the back for that one. Fixed!

The house a/c refused to come on. Discovered after a few days that I inadvertently threw the safety switch while changing filters on the furnace. Fixed! Not overly cerebral, but I still take credit for a fix.

With the help of John and Darren I was able to track down and buy what I needed to fix our dishwasher---a new control board. Fixed!

Nope, no LP or NG conversion.

What I have done so far:

I have removed and examined the burner orifice: no obstruction. Replaced it.

After removing the knob, I couldn't get past the plate that the knob stem is surrounded by. But, I see that if I slide an eye glass screwdriver (small diameter)  down the inside of the knob stem that it does seem to engage a screw of some type. Does the convention of open to the left and close to the right still hold here? If so, then I should be turning what ever is turning CCW. How far should I turn it?

I have turned the flame on and turned whatever is turning down the knob channel to see what happens. The flame does not adjust. Shouldn't it if I'm doing it right?

start at the beginning , you have a normal full flame at max setting ? 

If so that means we have a proper functioning burner

then as mentioned further up the thread it’s a low flame adjustment 

when you turn the knob down towards the low setting and you have a small flame then turn the screw to increase the flame and then turn your knob a bit lower and keep going until you have a small flame at the low setting 

the way I have always adjusted the low flame height was to get it as small as you can and wave your hand across the burner creating a breeze ensuring that the flame doesn’t blow out
