This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

LG LMXS30776S fresh food section not cooling

Door on fridge was left open all day. Would not cool after closing and freezer was frosted over. Removed all food from both sections, allowed to defrost (breaker off and all doors/drawers open) for 36 hours. Vacuumed out all water after defrost. Upon restarting freezer, custom chill drawer, and ice maker work fine but fresh food section wont maintain temp. Restarting after defrost it will get down to mid 30 degree range but after 24 hours is back up to 50-60 degrees and will not cool more than that. Removed duct cover in both sections after running for a couple of days, neither coil is frosted over. Damper doors are not blocked/broken and seem to actuate normally. Fans spin freely. Placed in diagnostic mode (stage 1) and can feel cold air flowing into the fresh food compartment. Placed thermistor for both fresh food general area and fresh food defroster in ice water and measured resistance. Both thermistors change resistance as they get colder and resistance is close to where the repair guide chart says its supposed to be. I'm unable to check sensor resistance on the board end since my meter doesn't have needle connections small enough to use on the plug. I live 60 miles from the nearest LG approved repair company and they wont service my area even after being offered an extra $100 per visit in cash in addition to what LG will pay them. Fridge is under warranty and I have an approval number for a tech visit but they cant find anybody to come out here. Any advice/assistance would be appreciated.

No frost at all?

A small amount of fine white frost on about 1/3rd of the coils towards the bottom. No actual ice build up. Frost melted away almost immediately after pulling the duct cover off.

Its a 30 cf french door unit. The delivery men had to take the doors off it and I had to take my entry door off its frame to get it in. I'm not sure how I'd move it short of renting a lift gate box truck and with 3 guys or so....

Yikes. That's not good. I don't know what to tell you. I'm not that familiar with it. Perhaps some of the guys around here will help when they see your predicament. Some sharp LG people around here. I'm just not one of them.

Quick thanks for responding. Any input helps. At this point i think its gotta be a sensor or the main board. I can force it to cool the fridge by using diagnostic mode so I know the compressor works and has the capacity to do it. Theres something electrical telling it to stop cooling. I ordered replacements for the 2 fridge sensors and I'm gonnna swap them out this week when they arrive. After that i'm thinking main board but I dont want to buy one myself if its under warranty.
