LG WM3001HWA Won't start unless you cycle the power first

I have a LG WM30001HWA that suddenely stoped responding to the power or start buttons also the cycle select wheel. Pulled the front panel checked the actual switches on the board

( they're fine). Turned the breaker off then back on, Ta DAA works fine! But no, after a cycle ends the tub light stays on and the buttons are unresponsive again.. Un plugging and plugging it back in is not doable (stacked units in a closet), so I put it on a power strip.  Google Fu says try holding the start/power buttons down while unplugged ,didn't help. Looks like the main control board might be a fix but It's out of stock till who knows when plus it's over $200 and according to some may not fix the problem. It's is a bit of a pain in the neck and no simple task to pull it out and unstack to open it up.

So other than it being a bit odd is there a problem with just cycling the power before each use?

I’d make sure all exhaust venting is absolutely clear. LG’s are very sensitive to venting. Too long of vents and too many elbows will cause trouble.

The symptom matches a failing Main Board.

For some owners...unplugging the (or turning off circuit breaker) washer...then plugging back in...allows continued use of the washer...one cycle at a time.

Eventually even that won't work anymore.

Thanks, I figured that would be the case. Guess I’ll just keep doing the power trick until the part is back in stock. Repair Clinic says sometime before the end of October.

I think you might have a long wait and the longer you wait the more chance you won't find one.

My sources say No Longer Available as of July 2018 but see a few around at multiple outlets ranging from $270 to $400+

I did think it was odd that "used" boards kept coming up at Amazon. I'll order one today. If it doesn't work I'll at least have a valuable commodity for the secondary market.?
