Front Glides

Hi I am trying to fix an issue where occasional small pieces of clothing (small towels, socks, etc) get stuck between the front of the drum and the circumference surrounding the drum.

It was suggested that I need to replace the front glides.

I have a Frigidair Electrolux FER211AS2 Dryer that occasionally catches clothes.  It was suggested I need to repair front glides, which I can, but I have noted other issues.

 

First issue:  What is the material that front glides slide on?  Do I need to replace it too?

 

 

Second, I have noted that the foam seal between the blower and the lint catcher enclosure was damaged.  How can I replace it?  Where do I get the glue, where do I get the foam, how do I clean the plastic before foam application?

The felt seals are upper and lower felt seals yes replace them both not just one.  I would also replace the rear nylon bearing in the back for the drum at the same time. Usually the front drum glides that are nylon which are the ones you originally asked about that are attached to the inner front of the dryer drum are most of the time ok.  Just make sure all the snapped in areas of that plastic nylon glide attached to the drum are secured and snapped in and not unattached.   It’s basically the worn upper and lower felt seals that have caused the gap and or opening you are concerned with.  Clothing will usually either get stuck in  between that gap or your clothing may get marks on them from almost getting stuck in that gap

Go to repair clinic.com  dryer maintenance kit # for repair clinic. Com is 1198622.    The manufacturers part # if you look somewhere else is 5304457724  it will have everything you need.   The foam seal your looking for is repairvlinic.com  part #1061865.      Manufacturers part # is 134417000.    There is high temperature adhesive that you use with it and Repairclinic.com part # is 12896.    Manufacturers part .# is 5308027429
