Kitchenaid Model KUDIO1ILBS6 DISHWASHER Didn't Drain

Recommended Posts

Our kitchenaid dishwasher didn't drain.

In searching for a command sequence to force the unit to drain, I read several sequences used for other

models but they did not work for me.  My buttons are:

I finally held down the cancel button, it began blinkjing and then held it until it beeped.  I thought, let's do that again

(for no good reason) and when I did, the machine turned on and started draining.  Then cut off.  I opened the door

and sure enough the water had drained.   I then ran a RINSE cycle and it completed nicely and the unit drained.

Each time, at the completion, no lights were lit on the unit.

Does anyone have a cheat-sheet on command sequences that might be helpful in the future for this unit?

Thank you,

Doug Hensley

Holding cancel will generally activate drain pump.

a lot of times if you brake a thin wine glass  or some type of glass in the dishwasher, those whirlpool dishwashers will allow a small piece of glass to get into the impeller section of the drain pump and intermittently jam up the pump and cause an intermittent or permanent draining problem.  Had you or someone else recently found a broken glass in the dishwasher ? The drain hose completely from the drain pump all the way to the disposal under the sink can have an obstruction in the hose some where along the line also.  I have seen pennies and nut shells in them that cause intermittent draining issues that will fool you all the time.  Just something to consider while your diagnosing the draining issue you think you may have.  take off the lower kick plate and taped to the back of it will be a tech sheet that can give you the sequences I think you are looking for.
