Siemens dishwasher inlet valve - gentle trickle only, is it bad?

Have an20 year old Siemens dishwasher that stopped spraying water - after a cycle, soap clumped at the bottom, no water on dishes.   Suspect the inlet valve.  Took it out, hooked to the water line over a bucket, energized the valve, and I get a gentle trickle.  I think it should be a strong stream, shouldn't it?  $200 part, but not sure it's the problem, since I do get water coming through, but doesn't seem to be much.  Can't seem to disassemble the solenoid/valve assembly to clean it - somewhat of an integrated design... Would like to know if this is the culprit or not... Your comments are appreciated!

Unhook the water supply and flow it into bucket directly.( without valve) is it also a trickle.

flow through valve should be at least 80% if not more than flow direct from line.

sounds like its bad to me.

The water supply, when directed into a bucket without the inlet valve shoots out like a garden hose - lots of volume and pressure.

Yes, getting 120VAC - I made a direct plug from wall outlet to solenoid of valve, measures 120VAC with a voltmeter.

The gentle trickle from the valve must mean the valve is blocked, partially open, or something else...too bad I can't seem to be able to disassemble it... hmm..

Oh well...

Yep then get new.

Even the ones that can disassemble seem to have trouble soon after, and i have seen people that do disassemble them never get them back 100% and it leads to leaks more Han 1/2 of the time
