Whirlpool GMC275PDQ4 Oven/Microwave combo

Is it possible to remove just the microwave for repair without taking the whole thing, oven and all, out of the wall?  Our microwave barely heats these days and since these combo units are pricey, I'd like to fix it if possible.  Thanks.

Many are (though it may not be easy to do so)

yours however the controls are with the oven controls so  if you separated it. You would have to bring the whole oven control system, or to run it you would need to build a new system.

Agreed. I believe this unit allows you to slide the MW assembly forward slightly for internal access, but not removal.

Weak heating is a pretty specific complaint. If the main control , interlocks , or HV transformer were faulty, you'd have no heating whatsoever. I'd say weak (but non-zero) heating points you toward the HV components: HV Capacitor (pn WP4375020 ), HV Diode (pn WPW10687786 ) , or Magnetron (pn W10245183 ).

I'd measure the power output first so you have a baseline, preferably several times. Heat 16 Oz. of water 1 min. on high. measure the temp before and after heating. Per the unit specs, you should see a temp rise of 20-38 Deg. F.

Thanks to both of you.  Servicing it in place is even better than pulling out the microwave.  It's still not obvious to me how I go about sliding it out, but knowing that it's possible gives me hope.  

I was actually planning to test the HV Cap with my capacitance checker and then just replace the diode and magnetron if that looked good.

Generic caps can be cheap. If your going that far just replace mag cap and diode
