kenmore elite #795.74013.411 refrig. drain line access help needed

Recommended Posts

I was trying to help my son clear the refig drain line on their Kenmore elite #795.74013.411. After clearing out the top we didn't see any obvious access point for the drain. Is the line accessed from the front of the unit or in the back at the bottom? If it's from the front I need some more information on how to get to it. It looked like the center column and the left bottom portion of the back were a single piece. I couldn't figure out how to get the piece loose. Is that done by unhooking the tabs with a putty knife? Help is appreciated. Thanks.

If the origin of the leak is within the fresh food compartment...

All shelves and crisper bins need to be removed. Everything.

Looking at the duct assy...dead center...there are 2 white plastic cosmetic screw covers at the top and bottom of the duct assy. At both ends of the steel shelf support.

Pop those out with a flat blade screwdriver...remove both phillips screws.

Begin removal of the duct assy/cover by pulling at the bottom.

Heavy ice/frost may need to be melted to allow proper removal (without damaging foam insulation).

didn't see any screws on te duct assembly but I'll look again. We saw 4 tabs that probably have to be pushed with a putty knife. I didn't take one so that came to a quick stop.
