All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

GE refrigerators Wire Schematic Needed

Manufacturer: GE
Type of Appliance: Refrigerator
Model Number: BCS42ELB
Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): yes
Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): yes

Did a search down to BCS42*, found zilch. This is an older GE built in, called out for no cooling. Found int. lights on, but unit not running. Jumped out cold control, still not running, confirm that the defrost timer was running, advances timer slowly, several rotations, nothing, replace def. control, but now control is not mounted but rather just hovering in its natural position. Initially the unit was still lifeless, so while holding the timer, i rotated the main gear, and had a momentary hum and a quick breeze of the CFM. I advanced timer again, no reaction, I move the wires a bit, and i got another momentary hum and breeze.

So, I was hoping to find a wire schematic that of course was missing, thanks to whomever worked on it previously, to help me try and pinpoint the issue.

Thanks for that, but to say it is incomplete would be an understatement, looks like basically the icemaker, door switches and mullion heater, but no compressor, condenser fan motor, evaporator fan motor, defrost control...

nothing else in your library, or should i say notepad?

Yeah, they could have done a better job on that tech sheet. But that’s all the GE site has for this old pig-dog.
