Jenn-air JMW9527CAB Mic/Oven Combo - Microwave not working

The Penguin

Recommended Posts

Microwave oven in JMW9527CAb is not working. It's been a while since I tried to use it, but my recollection is that there is a 20A breaker on the back of the oven unit (that feeds the microwave) and trips when the microwave is turned on and in use.

Any suggestions on what I might look for for a DIY repair before I call repairman or replace the entire combo?

thank you!

It looks like this unit uses a countertop-type microwave with a builtin venting kit. If that's the case, you'd need the model # off the microwave itself for any troubleshooting, JMW9527CAB is the Oven Model.

If the microwave is tripping the internal breaker, one easy possibility is faulty door switches. You could open the microwave and look for discoloration on the switch terminals, or just replace them anyway; they're cheap enough.

If this unit uses 1/4" teminal switches, these would be a suitable replacement:

Great observation and question. The Mic model number is JMC8100ADB. I live alone and recently had hand surgery, so taking things apart right now is a challenge. :D

as soon as I can hold a screwdriver, I'll get after it!
