Thermador PRSG304 4 Burner Gas Stove with burner problems

Recommended Posts

The control knob for one of the standard burners is turning very hard and we aren't able to turn down the flame to low. I assume the valve is sticking but wasn't able to find the right part.

Also, the stove has two burners with a simmer control. If these burners are set to anything other than high then the simmer control shuts off the flame. This should only happen when turned down to the simmer settings so I believe I need a new controller.  Do you know if the necessary parts are available?

Thanks

a few moments of research indicates, you need P/N 00422748...Serial number helps on some of these older units... These  simmer controls with xo controls, there is automatic re ignition....up date kit P/N 00497234  may be needed, ( but  NLA),            check with bosch...358 clams, (currently not available).....Gas valve is P/N 00415499, also NLA...

thanks for doing the research. It seems a shame that the parts aren't available any more as the stove itself seems generally in good shape. Do you know if there is any place that might have second hand replacement parts for something like this? It looks like a similar thermador replacement runs $4K+

following up. I disconnected the wire from the potentiometer and reattached. the simmer is now working!!

I also found on the regular burner, after it was already lit, if I pushed in the knob as I adjusted the flame, I could turn it all the way down as before. So basically I am back in business on all burners.
