LG Refrigerator with Freezer bottom section, icing up

OK, I've seen many videos which show that there is a rubber check valve at the end of the drain tube, that tends to get clogged.  But in my case, I found the drain tube was clear, and the flapper value was also fine and not clogged.  So I said, "what the heck?".  But i noticed the fan intake on removable back panel, the right (facing the rear) one was completely clogged with black dust/dirt, and the out-take on the far left side was clean.  I used a hair dryer and melted the ice, and saw water come out of the drain tube.  I cleaned the intake slots.   Can the clogged air intake be the cause of the drain port freezing up?  I don't see the logic of it, but maybe you experts know better than I.  Please share your 2 cents.

A couple questions...

based on your description you never mention drain actually being frozen was it?

did you see ice or frost?

Blocked air flow definitely causes problems. 

Hows it running now that you cleared the intake?

The bottom of freezer floor would have ice buildup.  I could see water drip from the inside back wall to the freezer floor. With the hairdryer melting the ice, i saw nothing coming out the drain tube in back for longest time, then suddenly water started to flow, as if ice somewhere in the drain path melted. So, is it possible nothing other than ice in the drain can cause a permanent blockage issue, if the air intake was clogged?  I will need to monitor to really know if i fixed anything, or not.

It's been a week now, and the ice on the freezer floor has NOT returned!  Keeping my fingers crossed, as I've heard it may come back after a month or 2.
