All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Whirlpool propane conversion kit w10606694a

I have a 27” wide matching dryer to a front loading Whirlpool dryer. Changed out the profane to the one mentioned in the directions, then it says to remove what looks like a small vent on top of the gas valve. The directions go on to say to screw in a connection to hook up a gas meter to check flow and after that it says to remove the connection but doesn’t say to put the  piece back in that had to removed to hook up the flow meter. The package has within it a same size what looks like vent but it has a small white stem on it that fits down into the hole that I had removed the other one from. The original doesn’t have the stem on it. I didn’t see in the directions anything about the piece and was following the directions for the gas valve that has the separate selonoids with the metal bracket over the top. Am I suppose to replace that out as well and utilize the new part.

I meant to say that the dryer is a match to a Whirlpool front load washer. Buy the way, how do you edit your posts

If you are converting from Natural gas to Propane then you will remove the vent cap that is used for Natural gas, (the one without the white pin) and replace it with the one from the kit that is about three times taller then the vent cap and has the white spring loaded blocking pin, (that pin and spring load is what sets the regulator to 11.5" Water Column pressure for Propane gas).
