All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. I can push in and turn the timer knob but it won't advance the dial and guard timer to select the cycle.  Which means it won't turn on.  Any help would be appreciated.

WP3949428 is likely the part that has failed. If you can find both this and the knob you can probably clear up your issue, but the knob is no longer manufactured and I can't find a replacement number. Can you rotate the timer dial by hand and select a cycle?

No, the problem is the timer - if you are resourceful and have some mechanical ability, you can take the timer apart and replace the shear pin that has broken or fallen out.

Part number: WP3950200

Part number: WP3950200

Or you can go the cheap route and push the timer to the off position and hopefully you can get a hold of the nub on the back side of the timer with pliers to hold the shaft from turning while unscrewing the timer knob.

Once you have the timer knob off you can remove the timer dial that MrApplianceMatt referred to in the above post and remove the clear protector dial off the main white part and reinstall without the clear shield.   Reinstall timer knob.

Know you can turn the washer on/off by pushing/pulling the timer knob and only turn the timer dial by hand when timer is off - you can set the timer but directly turning the timer dial instead of turning the knob to set the cycle.
