Maytag Neptune MDG5500AWW Vent Screw

Recommended Posts

My wife told me she was finding marks and tears on some of the delicate clothes.  The Dryer had recently started making more noise than usual.  After checking out Washer and Dryer I realized the screw on the rear bulkhead vent was missing.  I image the clothes were get scrated by the loose seal.   Also, as I turned the tumbler, I could hear the screw tumble.  I'm not sure how it would tumble, as it seems it would have fallen straight down and out of the way.

The drum doesn't appear to have anywhere the screw could be loosely caught.  I need a replacement screw which I image is a machine screw.  However the blow out doesn't give a size.

My thought is to also remove the front assembly so I can look for the screw.

Any thought on troubleshooting this problem.  Sound like I should just leave the old screw tumbling.

It has been awhile since logging in.  Do you still take beer recommendations?  Sweetwater 420.
