All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it.
I'll be posting a couple more tech sheets before Saturday so be sure to follow this event to keep up with the tech sheets we'll be going through.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

We noticed the clothes coming out of the washer were soaked. You could hear cold water running into detergent tray.

I turned the power for the washer off, and the water stopped. When I turned it on, the water started again.

I looked on repair clinic. There are 2 valves and a pressure switch. I had read that if I shut power off to washer, if it was a bad valve, water would continue to run. Ours stops.

Would it most likely be the pressure switch then?

 Thanks very much

Dave

When you say shut off power to the washer, do you mean turn off the power at the user interface or do you mean remove the plug from the wall? Do you know which valve is leaking, hot or cold? I would lay eyes on the valves themselves and I would check the wiring to each of the valves to ensure that you don't have one with worn or broken insulation grounding out causing your issue before you change the control board. Not to suggest that the control board isn't at fault, I just like to dot my i's and cross my t's before replacing electronics.

I turned off the machine by pressing the power button on the user interface. The water stopped running. I then turned off the water to allow the machine to spin and get the clothes out. After it counted down to 0, I turned the water back on, and it seemed normal again. Wasn’t filling inappropriately.
