Hello All,

 

Im hoping somebody here can provide me with some insight about the "Deep Fill" option on my GE washer.

I bought this particular model with the understanding that pressing the Deep Fill button momentarily will add 3 gallons of water, and holding it down will add 26 gallons. as indicated here:

When held down, I get maybe 6-7 inches of water in the tub.  Definitely not 26.

The model is still under warranty, so when the GE tech came out, a water flow test was performed using their laptop.  IT failed the test.

A new fill valve and control board was ordered, and it was installed today.  It still failed the test and the water level did not improve.

They are blaming my well, which during the fill test never dropped below 40psi.  Its on a 60/40psi switch and is plentiful.  My well is plentiful and outputs at least 5 gallons a minute and when I shock my well yearly, I run the outside hydrant for 3 hours straight without a hint of it running out of water.

So not sure what to do here, any recommendations would be great. I called GE back to complain and now they want to send a 3rd party tech out.

Update to this problem:

New supply hoses fixed the issue.  Tub fills as expected now

You'd think a GE technician would figure this out before throwing parts at it 🙄

A little late to the party here. I was going to mention your water pressure must be low. Deep fill will add water , but will also time out. They blamed your well because they are not responsible for the incoming water pressure being low.  The reason replacing the hoses fixed the issue was because there had to have been a clogged screen on the cold water inlet. It would have been nice for the GE Tech spend more than 30 seconds to show you.
