This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Maytag gemini mgr6775bds trouble shooting mode

I've a Maytag gemini mgr6775bds that will not light the upper oven despite a new igniter.

How do I enter the trouble shooting mode to stop chasing putting in unneeded new parts? I can't find instructions on how to enter it for the trouble codes.

TIA!

Is the igniter glowing? Do you have voltage to the igniter? Typically these units will not store error codes but will only display them when the condition for an error is present. You need to verify voltage to the igniter and what kind of amperage the igniter is pulling. If you have voltage to the igniter and it's glowing and you can measure the amperage and that amperage is sufficient to open the safety valve (3.2-3.7 amps typically) then you have a fuel delivery problem.

Trace the wires from each igniter back and look for a double line break relay. I've seen these go bad before in this way in their electric counterparts.
